MAN TGS 4-axle Tipper with Meiller Body
Presented here is the 1:50th scale MAN TGS 4-axle tipper with Meiller dump body from NZG. The model features the latest styling and is finished in a blue colour scheme with black chassis.
Starting with the cab, The doors have shaped handles with rear view, offside and front safety mirrors fixed to the frame. The cab has a roof window allowing light into the cab to highlight the internal detailing with chromed air horns, amber beacons and two radio aerials fitted to the roof.

The exhaust stack rises up behind the cab and is topped with a black highlighted cap.

The bumper has integrated headlights with clear plastic lenses along with a number plate and MAN logo prominently displayed across the front grill, complete with chromed highlighting. Air tanks and a large fuel tank are fitted to the frame between the front and rear wheels with a structure, complete with MAN printed logo offering side damage protection to the air bottles, just like the full sized truck. |
One nice addition is the small platform above the front wheel arch which has a dimpled surface while the access steps leading up to the cab have an anti-slip texture.
Even the air intake has an intricate pattern of holes embedded into the surface. Both front axles have functional steering with authentic looking road tread tyres which are also modelled on the rear wheels which are mounted to simulated suspension struts with a driveshaft connected to the axles and transmission.
The 4-axle chassis features an integrated towing pintle hitch cast into the frame along with bumper bar and light bar, consisting of brake, reversing and indicator lights which have been added to the model, using coloured plastic lenses which look very realistic.
The rear wheel guards have crisp fixing detailing cast into the plastic with simulated mud guards on the rear edges (as pictured above) which look vey realistic and enhance the model's appearance.

The Meiller tipper body features side wall panelling detail with an opening tail gate, complete with authentic Meiller logo. The body is modelled on a 3-way tipping mechanism but this is not functional on the model and the only tipping configuration is that of a standard rear tip dump truck which does tip to an authentic angle. The Meiller dump body does have the side door opening mechanisms cast into the surface with the linkage picked out with silver paint which does add to the level of realism but it is a shame that it does not have the side tipping functionality. |

The paint finish is excellent with crisp printing of the MAN & Meiller logos with small printing across the cab doors. The model has also been produced in Merz Transporte decoration. The model is pictured below alongside the limited edition Komatsu PC210LC in Weidler company colours.
