MAN TGS 4-axle Tipper with Halfpipe Body

Presented here is the limited edition 1:50th scale MAN TGS 4-axle tipper with halfpipe dump body from NZG in the Felbermayr company livery. The model features the latest styling and is finished in the familiar blue colour scheme with white cab roof.

Both front axles have functional steering with authentic looking road tread tyres which are also modelled on the rear wheels which are mounted to simulated suspension struts with a driveshaft connected to the axles and transmission.

The cab doors have shaped handles with rear view, offside and front safety mirrors fixed to the frame. The cab has a roof window allowing light into the cab to highlight the internal detailing with chromed air horns, amber beacons and two radio aerials fitted to the roof.

One nice addition is the small platform above the front wheel arch which has a dimpled surface while the access steps leading up to the cab have an anti-slip texture. Even the air intake has an intricate pattern of holes embedded into the surface.

The exhaust stack rises up behind the cab and is topped with a black highlighted cap. The bumper has integrated headlights with clear plastic lenses along with a number plate and MAN logo prominently displayed across the front grill, complete with chromed highlighting. Air tanks and a large fuel tank are fitted to the frame between the front and rear wheels with a structure, complete with MAN printed logo offering side damage protection to the air bottles, just like the full sized truck.

There are some nice touches on the model, like the small orange paint dots on the wheel covers and the blue painted filler cap on the hydraulic fluid tank. The 4-axle chassis features an integrated towing pintle hitch cast into the frame along with bumper bar and light bar, consisting of brake, reversing and indicator lights which have been added to the model, using coloured plastic lenses which look very realistic.

The rear wheel guards are a different design with a single curved section covering both rear wheels. The surface has an intricate diamond plate texture with simulated mud guards on the rear edges (as pictured above). The tipping movement of the body is fairly limited and does not go particularly high. The body itself has accurately captured the interior contours with a large pivoting tailgate and support bars fitted to the lower sides.

The paint finish is excellent with crisp printing of the Felbermayr logos on the cab doors while the sides of the dump body have details of the companies website. The model is shown below alongside the Liebherr R926 tracked excavator which is painted in the same company colours.
