MAN TGS M 2-Axle Truck with Gritter and Plow
Presented here is the 1:50th scale MAN TGS M 2-axle truck with detachable gritter box and snow plow from Conrad. The basis for the model is a 2-axle truck chassis with functional rear tipping body that has folding side panels and tips to a reasonable angle.
The cab has a replicated interior with driver & passenger seats and a contoured dashboard visible through the clear front, side and rear windows. The self fit roof light bar has an amber warning beacon and silver painted driving lights while additional flood lights with integrated indicator strips have been fitted to the front of the cab. The raised MAN name and logo are prominent on the front grill with red and white chevron warning panels printed onto the front corners of the cab.
The lower bumper has integrated driving lights with clear and amber tinted lenses along with a connector plate where the detachable snow plow can be connected. The tyres have an authentic moulded tread pattern with silver wheel hubs and the front axle has a good degree of turning lock.

The curved blade of the plow has a blue plastic upper section with detailed cast framework and ribbing panels on the rear of the blade. The blade assembly slots into the holes on the front adapter plate and hydraulics provide both angular and height adjustment.

The cab can be tilted to reveal the engine block underneath and the drivetrain has been replicated along the underside of the model to the rear axle. A tank is fitted behind the cab and has a blue painted textured surface with filler cap and exhaust added. |

The rear gritting frame can be detached from the truck by sliding it rearwards and the extending stabiliser legs pull out with friction holding them in place. The two legs at the front of the gritter assembly then push into the holes in the frame. The rear of the chassis has a pivoting black protection screen with rear facing light clusters with coloured lenses.
The model can be posed with the front plow fitted and the rear gritter box detached (as pictured left) offering different posing options. |

The access steps to the hopper can be folded up, as can the spreader head which has a detailed segmented disc and blue plastic contoured cover. Blue plastic side and rear panels have also been added along with a removable hopper cover which reveals the internal screw auger in the base which transfers the material to the spreader head. |

This is another great model release from Conrad with an excellent paint finish and great detailing throughout. The model is supplied in a cardboard box with foam lined inner liner to keep the model secure during shipping.
