MAN TGS 4-axle chassis with Dautel Dump Body

Presented here is the 1:50th scale MAN TGS 4-axle truck chassis with Dautel 3-way tipping body from Conrad.

The main features on the model are the fully functional 3-way tipping body which can be positioned in each of the three tipping configurations. This has been achieved by using plastic strips on the underside of the body which connect to ball joints on the chassis. Depending on which ball joints are connected depends on which side the body will tip and this is a very nice feature on the model.

The design of the body casting allows for the side doors to open which are hinged on the upper edge. The tailgate can also be opened and the casting includes the overhanging rear discharge chute. The front axles have working steering and are fitted with accurately moulded rubber tyres which have a detailed road tread pattern along with silver wheel hubs.

The cab interior is visible through the clear glazed windows and rear view mirrors are supplied in the box and need fitting to the model by inserting into the pre drilled holes in he cab frame. The cab can be tilted forward to reveal the modelled engine block within along with the chrome finished exhaust stack with intricate texture mounted behind the cab.

Fuel and air tanks are fitted to the chassis frame along with a rear towing pintle and push bar whilst silver finished guards with a textured diamond plate pattern are fitted above the rear wheels and a spare wheel is mouted centrally below the tipping body.

The paint finish on the model is excellent, as expected from Conrad and the model is supplied in a protective foam covered inner cardboard wrap with outer printed box.
