Liebherr LTM1070-4.1 - Mammoet

Presented here is the Liebherr LTM1070-4.1 4-axle mobile crane from Conrad in the Mammoet company colours. The model is an update to the previously released LTM1060-2 and shares the same castings with the exception of the boom and rear counterweight.

The four axles feature working steering allowing tight radius turning and crab steer modes with detailed rubber tyres with an authentic tread pattern. The four outriggers are made of plastic and slide out easily with screw adjustable pads which can be lowered to raise the wheels off the ground.

The main boom has an additional telescoping section than the LTM1060-2 and the rear counterweight is a little larger, featuring plastic screw fittings which allow the separate counterweight to be fastened to the rear frame. The front cab has small holes drilled into the door frames for the addition of the plastic mirrors which push into the holes. This is another nice addition on the model which adds to the realism while the crane cab has a replicated interior with the ability to tilt by about 25 degrees.

The model also comes with boom mounted, two section lattice jib  which fastens to the side of the boom by using the two plastic brackets that fit to the cast lugs on the boom side which help to keep the jib firmly in place. two metal pins are provided to connect the jib to the boom head. This is a very welcomed update of a great original.
