Link Belt 250X3 Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the Link Belt 250X3 tracked excavator model in 1:50th scale from Conrad. Based on the Case CX240 body and undercarriage castings, the model is decorated in the latest Link Belt colours with an even paint finish allowing all the casting details to be seen.
The tracked undercarriage has linked metal track pads with triple grouser detailing and sprung idler wheels keeping the tracks tensioned. The track frames have roller and guide wheel detailing along with cast access steps on the sides of each frame.

The cab interior has been replicated and is clearly visible through the clear glazed windows. The upper body has been accurately captured from the full sized machine with a textured engine cover and authentically scaled metal safety rails, complete with clip on rear view mirror. Link Belt markings have been added to the rear counterweight with red plastic pieces fitted to the lower corners while the machine's designation is printed on the body sides along with fine pitched grille lines. |

The model has been produced with a standard digging boom, stick and general purpose bucket which has a reasonable range of movement although the bucket linkage is a little limited in the dumping movement. The hydraulics are reasonably stiff, allowing the boom to remain in the chosen position while the cylinders have integrated piping with flexible hoses added for more realism which is certainly good to see. |
The piping on the back of the boom is raised and looks much better than the earlier Conrad models where the piping is cast into the back of the boom. Another welcome addition is the auxiliary hydraulic piping on the stick for powering attachments.
