Presented here is the limited edition 1:50th scale Liebherr T282B mining truck from Conrad, finished in a yellow colour scheme with grey safety railings, access ladders and a white cab.

No casting changes have been observed and this version is just a colour difference over the previous releases. The paint finish is excellent as usual with crisp printing of the Liebherr logos along the sides of the dump body.

While the white version of the T282B truck is a very good model, there is something about the Liebherr construction yellow colour which makes the casting detail really stand out, and this is certainly the case here.

Prominent on the upper deck is the white painted cabin with replicated interior detailing, roof mounted air conditioning unit and floodlight housing.

The upper deck and cabinets have crisp detailing cast into the surfaces, as shown to the right.

All the safety railings around the upper deck are metal and painted grey, including the integrated rear view mirrors and ladders leading down the front of the model. The trucks designation is printed on the front with weight scales printed with the maximum load of 400 Tons on both sides.

The three section front radiator grill has a delicate textured surface with inset gemstones simulating the main driving lights, complete with fire extinguisher. The dump body is connected to two-stage lift hydraulics which allow the body to reach a very realistic tipping angle. Flexible rubber flaps are fitted to the underside of the body for added realism.

At the heard of the chassis is the replicated engine block and moulding for the enormous radiator and cooling package. Rubber and plastic piping has been added with fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks mounted to the chassis sides. The tyres have a solidly defined tread pattern with contoured sidewalls, topped with plastic wheel hubs that have plenty of fine detailing.

The front axles are mounted to the frame with functional suspension bars which also allow a good range of steering movement.

The rear drive housing is also mounted to the frame with functional suspension with rear facing light housings integrated into the casting with the twin exhaust pipes visible above.

This limited edition version of the T282B really looks the part and I can only hope that Conrad look to produce a limited run of the Liebherr R996 backhoe in yellow which would make an ideal companion.
