Liebherr R924 Compact Tracked Excavator

Presented here is the updated version of the Liebherr R924 Compact tracked excavator model in 1:50th scale from Conrad with grey hydraulic cylinders. There are no casting differences over the original release and the markings remain the same with the only difference being the grey hydraulics.

The detail level is amazing for a reasonably small model. The body casting has been very well cast and includes cutouts to replicate the various cooling grills with inset grey panels behind for a three dimentional appearance. 

The newly styled cab is highly detailed with handrails, mirrors and internal controls. Even the new central lube system has been reproduced on the rear of the body with self fit side and rear plastic safety mirrors.

The undercarriage is excellent, with sprung loaded idler wheels and individually linked metal tracks. The bucket is nicely done and has plenty of detail, including wear protection while the boom and stick have a very good range of movement, allowing the bucket to fit within the undercarriage footprint.

The finish of the model is excellent, as is expected of Conrad with crisp printing of the Liebherr markings on the boom, body and counterweight. The grey finish of the hydraulics is a nice addition to the model and it is good to see Conrad produce a new batch to reflect the latest revisions of the machine.
