Liebherr R916 Classic Tracked Excavator

Presented here is the exclusive "Toy Fair 2014" edition 1:50th scale Liebherr R916 Classic tracked excavator which has been decorated in NZG colours with special printing. The model could be won on the stand during the Nuremberg toyfair and was presented to guests at the NZG open house event. The undercarriage frame has highly detailed drive wheels with integrated access steps cast into the frames. The individually linked track pads have grouser and bolt detailing on each pad and link together using tension.

The cab interior has been accurately reproduced with controls and drivers seat all visible through the large windows. The "Classic" version has the older style cabin which has accurately scaled grab rails and rear view mirrors fitted to the frame.

The new styling of the generation 6 Liebherr machines is a stunning change from the older design with curved body and shaped cooling grills set off by the interesting contours and grills on the side. Grab rails and steps have been added to the main frame allowing access to the top of the engine compartment.

The stick is missing the quick coupler fitted to the "Advance" version although the bucket is pinned in place and can be detached. Flexible hoses have been added for realism. The boom, stick and bucket linkage having a very accurate range of movement with stiff hydraulic cylinders allowng the model to be posed as required.

The paint scheme consists of a red undercarriage with black body, red cabin and upper engine cover and a red stripe running around the upper carriage with silver finished safety railings and engine grills. The boom and stick are black with red hydraulic cylinders and a red bucket adding contrast. The NZG website details are printed on the boom and sides of the body where they are also accompanied with the NZG logo while the rear counterweight has the NZG logo and printing highlighting it is the "Toy Fair 2014" edition.
