1:50th Scale Liebherr R916 Classic Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Liebherr R916 Classic tracked excavator from NZG. The R916 Advance has been produced in over 20 different colour versions since it was first released and the latest arrival is the Classic version which has several noticeable casting differences with an older style cabin, new boom casting and the omission of a quick coupler although the bucket can be detached from the stick.
The new styling of the generation 6 machines is a stunning change from the older design with curved body and shaped cooling grills. Grab rails and steps have been added to the main frame allowing access to the top of the engine compartment. Even the anti slip surface has been simulated which is another great touch.
The undercarriage frame has highly detailed drive wheels with integrated access steps cast into the frames. The individually linked track pads have grouser and bolt detailing on each pad and link together using tension.
The cab is of the older design which is one of the main casting differences between the Classic and Advance versions of the model. The cab interior has been accurately reproduced with controls and drivers seat all visible through the large windows and the rubber window seals have been simulated using black printing.
All the hydraulic cylinders are now grey which also gives the model a different appearance while the counterweight has red warning markings and a safety mirror to give the driver a view immediately behind the machine.
The paint finish is excellent with accurate placement of the Liebherr markings and machine designation on the body sides and boom and the return of the grey and white stripe around the body.

Several small yellow warning labels have been printed on the model which adds to the appearance while the door handles of the engine panels and cabin have also been highlighted. |
The addition of flexible hydraulic piping to the boom, stick and bucket cylinders is another nice touch and adds to the level of realism on the model. |

This is another good addition to the ever expanding range of Liebherr models that are being commissioned. The model is packed in a two piece polystyrene carton with outer printed box.
