Liebherr PR724 bulldozer

This is the latest version of the Liebherr PR724 model from Norscot. The model is an excellent replica of the original machine with a host of extra detailing over the previous version of the model. Gone are the rubber band tracks and a set of very detailed linked metal tracks have been added. This mode is a completely new casting with much more defined crispness about it. The engine cover panels have accurate textured grills and the main blade lift cylinders have been repositioned in front of the engine which gives the machine a sleaker look.

The model features a 6-in-1 angled dozer blade which is mounted on the inside of the tracks. The blade raises and lowers and also angles left and right and the lift cylinders have grab handles fitted along with foot plates on the dozer arms which is another example of the increased level of detail on the model. the cylinders are stiff enough to hold the blade in the air and have flexible plastic pipework from the cylinder tip to the engine bay.

The cab has a fully detailed interior which is visible through the clear windows. The outside of the cab is also very highly detailed with accurately scaled grab rails found all the way round the cab giving a level of detail which surpasses the Brami and Conrad dozer models.

Grab rails are also fitted to the rear body and side engine panels for that extra level of realism. The plastic wind screen wipers fitted to the front, rear and door windows is another example that Norscot have really gone to town with the detail level on the model

The twin work light housing mounted to the side of the cab frame has silver painted lenses and grab rails while two rear facing work lights mounted in the roof also have silver painted lenses. Other fine details include the painted door handles on the engine compartment and body storage compartments, the fuel filler pipe and cap and the finely cast air conditioning unit mounted to the rear of the cab frame.

The paint finish is crisp with a slightly darker shade of grey and yellow than the previous version. The authentic Liebherr markings and painted over rivets finish off what is an excellent model and fantastic update to an already acceptable model and it is a clear example that Norscot are keeping up with other manufacturers in producing some highly detailed models at a very reasonable price. This model is a must for any Liebherr collector.
