Liebherr LTM1030-2.1 Mobile Crane
Presented here is the updated version of the Liebherr LTM1030-2.1 mobile crane in 1:50th scale from Conrad. The original version has been available for a long time and, over the years, numerous company painted versions have been produced.

The update includes a new style upper cab featuring black painted hand rails running up the front of the cab and along the roof with a replicated interior and roof window. The cab appears to be the same casting as found on the LTM1070-4.1 model.

Other differences include a slightly different paint scheme which highlights the raised diamond plate textured upper deck and access ladders on both sides of the chassis. The front cab remains the same and the main chassis and boom castings are also from the original version. |
The two section fold out luffing jib is mounted on the side of the boom and uses pins to secure it in place during operation. The four H-pattern outriggers are made of plastic with screw down jacks which will hold the weight of the model when extended and the two axles feature working steering allowing the model to be posed in a number of steering modes including crab steer.
The paint finish is up to Conrad's usual high standards and it is good to see Liebherr commission an update to a small but popular model. The model is securely packed in a two section polystyrene carton with printed cardboard outer.
