1:50th Scale Liebherr LRB255 Drilling/Piling Rig
Presented here is the limited edition Liebherr LRB255 modular drilling / piling rig in 1:50th scale from NZG, decorated in the colours of the Soletanche Bachy company. The model is supplied with vibratory hammer for piling applications.
The cab is fully detailed inside with centre mounted display screen and full operator controls visible through the tinted glazed windows. The cab roof has falling debris protection and rear view mirrors have been added.
The undercarriage on the model features an extending track frame to provide better stability. The metal tracks are free rolling and individually linked with tensioned idlers and the track frames have individually mounted lower rollers.

The rear body has cooling housings with large grill slats modelled which look good along with holders along the opposite side to hold the hydraulic hose bundle when in transport configuration.

The body features several opening compartments to gain access to the winches, of which there are three with one operating the main winch line to raise/lower the cradle where the hydraulic hammer is connected. |
The working end of the model is fully functional and positionable and even has the working lateral inclination adjustment, just like the real machine (pictured below). The model is supplied in it's fully erected state straight out of the box and it can be collapsed into it's transport mode.

The hammer attachment has sliding pile grippers with good surface detailing of the hammer assembly.
The model has hydraulic hoses fitted from the base carrier which are authentically shaped and hang accurately. The hoses also fit into the hammer head. |

The leader is over 53cm tall from base to tip with operating sheave head and pivoting main and secondary boom arms which fold down for transport to reduce the height.

The Liebherr LRB255 drilling/piling rig is the second foundation model to be produced in the Soletanche Bachy company colours, joining the Liebherr LB28 dedicated drilling rig.
