1:50th Scale Liebherr L576 Wheel Loader Presented here is the 1:50th scale Liebherr L576 wheel loader from Conrad, the latest addition to the replica wheel loader line-up. The updated design of the wheel loader range includes a more sleek and streamlined rear body offering better visibility and excellent serviceability with a Stage IIIB/Tier 4i emission standards compliant power-plant at the heart of the chassis. The replica reviewed here from Conrad has authentically captured the appearance of the L576. The articulating frame has a reasonable range of steering movement with hydraulics and a drive-shaft located across the joint. The tyres have a neatly moulded tread pattern with grey painted wheel hubs showing the updated colour scheme, while the front wheel guards have simulated rubber flaps and wheel chocks visible. The cabin has a replicated interior which is clearly visible through the large glazed panoramic window which has highlighted seals and a painted windscreen wiper. Self fit rear view mirrors fix into the holes on the underside of the roof panel which has integrated work lights with silver painted lenses. The side grills are produced from photo-etched metal plates with an intricate pattern of holes simulating the looks of the full sized machine very well and revealing the outline of the internal components which have been modeled. This is certainly a nice touch from Conrad and hopefully, more fine detailing will be added to their models going forward.
The loader arms have captured the full range of movement from the full sized machine which is expected from Conrad and allows the model to be posed in a number of realistic configurations. The hydraulics are smooth in operation and hold well while the bucket shows good structural detailing with crisply cast tooth detailing and a raised structure on the upper surface protecting the tip piston. The Liebherr L576 is a good match to the TA230 articulated hauler and is finished to a very high standard with an even paint coat allowing the casting details to be seen. The printed Liebherr markings are crisp and clear and the model is packed in the familiar foam lined cardboard wrap with outer printed cardboard box. |
