A954C High Rise Material Handler
"Overslag Bedrijf Moerdijk BV"
Presented here is the limited edition Liebherr A954C wheeled excavator model in 1:50th scale from NZG, decorated in the OBM (Overslag Bedrijf Moerdijk BV) company colours.
The body casting has been very well done and includes grill details, textured silver finished walkways on both sides, complete with safety railings and access ladders leading down to the undercarriage. Small metal grab rails are fitted along the sides of the body for extra realism and a large exhaust pipe is fitted to the rear of the body.
The newly styled cab is highly detailed both inside and out. The steering wheel and driver's seat are visible through the large windows which have black printing to highlight the rubber window seals and a metal grab rail with integrated rear view mirrors is attached to the cab frame.
The entire cab housing is fitted to a hydraulically operated cab riser which has stiff hydraulics allowing the cabin to be positioned at any chosen height. The riser also has an integrated walkway, complete with safety railings and a textured floor panel along with a ladder providing safe access.
The undercarriage is very nicely engineered with fully functional stabilisers, complete with large pivoting pads and functional hydraulics which are stiff enough to hold the weight of the model. There are detailed entry steps and grab handles at each end of the undercarriage and the front wheels are steer-able.
The wheels are finished with thin rubber tyres and the hubs have intricate bolt and structural detailing. The most interesting part of this model is the addition of the high rise tower which raises the body by 45mm.
The curved boom and long stick are fully functional and include plenty of detail including hydraulic hoses and work light housings. The fully functioning clamshell with 360 degree rotation is mounted to the stick with a pin and can be removed to demonstrate a transport configuration.
The finish of the model is excellent, as is expected of NZG. The markings are very crisp throughout and the OBM colours help to make the model one of the most colourful and striking Liebherr models to date. The A954C is pictured below alongside the Liebherr L586 wheel loader in OBM livery.
