Liebherr L586 Wheel Loader - Eggersmann

Presented here is the limited edition, 1:50th scale Liebherr L586 wheel loader in Eggersmann decoration from NZG. The Eggersmann company began in 1935 and is still a sucesful family run business supplying building materials from their two gravel pits. Further details of the company can be obtained from their website. Anyone wanting to purchase the model can do so directly from the Eggersmann company.

The L586 is the largest model in the Liebherr wheel loader range and the model from NZG has accurately captured all the details and realism of the full sized machine. The rear axle has functional oscillation and freely rotating wheels with authentic treaded Goodyear rubber tyres whilst the articulating steering features working hydraulics and a reproduced drive shaft to the front axle. The silver finished handrails are all metal and accurately sized while the authentic diamond plate panels on the rear counterweight give the model a more realistic appearance.

The engine covers are accurately cast with side and top grills and cut-outs all visible, complete with hand rails and black painted anti slip panels recreated on the rear wheel fenders. The blue and red colours of the Eggersmann company really do look good, accented with white pin lines and a blue stripe, which is excellently applied throughout. Tiny printing of the company website is also visible across the top of the rear window.

The cab interior is fully reproduced with operator controls and operators seat clearly visible through the clear windows. The front debris protection screen is made of plastic and can be removed from the model by following the printed instructions.

The front bucket features wear plate protection and well defined tooth detailing with Z bar linkage which has a good amount of movement and flexible hydraulic pipework. The boom arm hydraulics are stiff allowing the bucket to be positioned at any height chosen. Of all the different liveries of the L586 wheel loader model, this is, in my opinion one of the most striking colour schemes so far produced and really stands out.
