Kramer Allrad 350 Mini-Loader

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Kramer Allrad 350 wheel loader from Universal Hobbies. Two versions of the 350 mini-loader have been produced, one with open ROPs and pallet forks and the cab version with bucket  reviewed here. The single loader arm design features the lift and tilt hydraulics mounted below with a linkage to the work tool and this has been accurately captured on the model with the bucket lifting to a good height and a reasonable amount of tip. The use of fixed and flexible hydraulic piping is a good addition which really enhances the realism.

The enclosed cab looks great on the model, especially considering its size and has a fully replicated interior with the operators controls all visible. The cab casting has ridge detailing with door hinges and lifting connections all integrated along with rear view mirrors, work lights and both front and rear wipers which is great detailing for a model so small.

The tyres fitted to the model differ from those fitted to the pallet fork version, with an intricate tread pattern looking more like the type of tyre used in landscape gardening to protect the surface. The silver wheel hubs are secured to the axles with small screws and both axles have linked steering with limited movement, again demonstrating the functionality of the full sized machine.

The rear body has an inset radiator grill complete with intricate printed texture with protruding counterweight and integrated towing hitch. The paint finish is very good with crisp markings on the body and loader arms, topped with an amber warning beacon mounted to the roof.

The model is fixed to a plastic base with removable clear plastic cover and can be removed by unscrewing the two fixing screws and removing the wire ties. This is a good way of packaging the model and is less likely to be damaged during shipping. The 350 is pictured below alongside the 850 which demonstrates just how small the model is.
