Kramer 3307 Telescopic Handler with platform
Presented here is the latest release in the 1:32nd scale Kramer model range, the 3307 telescopic handler with platform from Universal Hobbies. The model is based on the same basic chassis as the previous 4507 variants with a different rear end and markings.
The large, curved front windscreen is partly protected by a plastic debris protection grill and has windscreen wipers, front facing work and indicator lights and rear view mirrors all fitted to the frame. The opposite side of the model has a detailed frame with integrated rear view mirror, front facing work lights and indicator lense. There are even light modules fitted to the boom for added realism.
The 3307 is fitted with a work platform, featuring accurately scaled safety railings with simulated gate opening, anti-slip textured floor panel and pivoting bar. The platform is permanently connected to the telescopic arm and cannot be easily removed. This is a pity as it would have been good for Universal Hobbies to provide several attachments in the box, highlighting the true nature of the full sized machines to perform different tasks by changing the attachment.
The opening cab door reveals an operator station brimming with detail. The dashboard is finished with an array of switches and dials along with air vents, foot control pedals and steering console with steering wheel that is actually connected to the steering linkage beneath the model so, as the wheels are adjusted, the steering wheel rotates. The side console has reproduced arm rest and joystick control for the boom operation while the contoured seat has realistic simulated cloth pattern, complete with seat adjustment levers.
There are some stunning details on the model including the rear light cluster lenses which have brake, indicator and reverse lights all molded into the one piece lense. The use of silver paint to highlight the bolts on the rear plastic mud guards also shows the level of detail throughout the model. The all wheel steering is functional with the possability to pose in different steering configurations including tight turn and crab steer with all wheels freely rotating. The tyres have a deep and intricate tread pattern moulded into the surface and are mounted to silver wheel hubs with visible bolt fixing detailing.
The paint quality is very high with all markings and warning labels reproduced throughout. While there are many plastic parts on the model, the shear level of detail is excellent and Universal Hobbies have produced a very good model at an affordable price.
