1:50th Scale Komatsu WH613 Telescopic Handler

This is the new 1:50th scale Komatsu WH613 telescopic handler with pallet forks from Universal Hobbies. The model has freely rotating wheels with authentic rubber tyres and working four wheel steer, although the range of movement is limited as the tyres quickly touch the body.

The three stage boom has two telescoping sections which connect to the quick coupler. The smallest section does look a little thin and out of scale and the way the head is connected causes the pallet forks to droop. I have needed to add a little superglue to keep everything at the correct angle.

The cab interior is fully detailed with operator controls and steering wheel visible through the clear windows. The roof is partly glazed and has debris protection fitted inside which is a nice touch. The cab exterior has  a warning beacon, rear view mirrors and windscreen wipers front and back which adds to the realism.

There are front and rear facing working light clusters and hydraulic hoses fitted to the body and the front mounted stabilisers are working with enough stiffness to keep the front wheels raised off the surface.

The paint finish is very good with all warning and safety markings added. Most of the model is metal and is another great addition to the Komatsu model fleet. One interesting observation is that the box has pictures of the model with bucket and yet the model only has pallet forks supplied in the box.
