Komatsu HD785-7 Rigid Haul Truck
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Komatsu HD785-7 off-road haul truck which has been produced in China by NZG. The HD785-7 is a 100 ton capacity hauler which perfectly matches power, speed and reliability with an ergonomic cabin for a comfortable ride.
The engine bay houses a replicated 1200hp Komatsu SAA12V140E-3 diesel power plant with a drive shaft connecting the transmission to the rear axle while the tyres have a crisp and accurate tread pattern with plenty of fixing bolts visible on the wheel hubs. The rear axle is connected to the frame with working suspension while the front axle can be steered to a respectable angle.

An extending side platform is integrated into the upper deck with fine mesh floor panels added along with a red fire extinguisher, large rear view mirrors with a silver painted inner surface and a front pointing safety mirror.

The model is fitted with a replicated cabin that has a reproduced interior with exterior door panel detailing, integrated grab rails and a screen wiper all adding to the realism. |
The front grill is a fine photo-etched panel allowing the radiator block behind to be seen with access ladders located on both sides leading to the upper deck which has accurately scaled metal safety railings. Lights are integrated into the front body which are nicely done with silver, yellow and amber colouring.

Two stage hydraulic cylinders tip the body to a good height for material discharge and rock deflectors are fitted to the underside with pins used to secure them in a raised position, another nice touch from NZG. The structural elements of the dump body have been accurately modelled complete with flexible rubber flaps and silver finished heated body recepticle. |
The paint finish is excellent throughout with authentic placement of the Komatsu markings and logos on the front grill, cab door and the sides of the body. The HD785-7 is suitable to be loaded by the Komatsu PC2000-8, as shown below.
