1:50th Scale Komatsu HB215LC Hybrid Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the latest release from Universal Hobbies, the 1:50th scale Komatsu HB215LC hybrid tracked excavator. The model is a re-release of the earlier PC210LC and has all the same castings. The only difference is the new decoration and machine designations.
The cab interior is finely detailed with all controls visible through the clear windows, including the Komatsu logo on the seat back. The new decoration is printed along both sides of the body and this looks very good. Additional printing details include safety labels on the counterweight and the anti-slip panels on the upper deck.
The cab exterior has windscreen wipers, lights, grab rails and rear view mirrors fitted and there is a warning beacon and radio aerials fitted on the roof.

The hydraulic pipework on the back of the boom is very realistic with flexible hosing used between boom and stick.

The paint finish is very good although the model still suffers from over use of plastic which is a pity as it detracts slightly from what is otherwise another fantastic model in the Komatsu lineup, featured below alongside the HM250 articulated dump truck. Another version of the model has been produced, designated HB205LC for the US market.
