Kenworth T800W Tractor with Rogers 4-axle Lowboy TrailerPresented here is the Kenworth T800 4-axle tractor with Rogers 4-axle lowboy trailer and Volvo EC210C tracked excavator in the Kokosing decoration. The model has been commissioned for the DHS Preferred members with a limited number of the models being produced. The large and distinctive bonnet houses a large photo-etched front grill with prominent Kenworth logo located centrally and a large chromed bumper which has a hole cut in the center where the collector can choose to connect either the wide load warning panel or a pintle hitch.
Large chromed fuel tanks are located on both sides of the chassis with black painted fixing rings and tiny printed warning labels. The distinctive air filters are present outside the engine bay and the bonnet can be tilted forward to reveal the engine compartment with the large, red coloured engine block at it's heart along with the radiator, cooling fan and exhaush pipework all visible. The chromed battery compartment has been populated with batteries and replicated electrical connectors and the cover slides into place. The opposite side of the chassis has an opening storage compartment fixed to the chassis and both also double as access steps into the cab.
The cab has been authentically modelled both inside and out. The roof sports two air horns and five amber lights with a chromed sun visor across the front of the cab and a half width Amber light bar mounted high up at the rear of the cab. The front window has painted rubber seal detailing with metal wipers and rear view mirrors which need adding to the model by inserting into the holes in the cab frame.
The gooseneck of the Rogers trailer can be coupled to the fully functional fifth wheel which slides along the truck chassis and has a working king pin connection bracket which is activated by moving the handle, just like on the full sized truck. The coiled service lines have connectors which fit into the holes in the gooseneck but they are not a stiff enough fit to remain in place.
The underside of the trailer is highly detailed with working suspension and service lines all visible. The tread pattern on the tyres has been intricately moulded and looks incredibly realistic. Other details include flexible rubber mud flaps fitted to the rear frame and flip axle frame.
This is another great addition to the expanding Kokosing model collection, pictured above with the Peterbilt 335 mechanics truck.
