JCB 406 Wheel Loader

The JCB 406 wheel loader Loadall in 1:35th scale from Joal is available in two configurations, one with pallet forks and one with a four in one bucket.

The loader arms on the model achieve a good amount of movement and the hydraulics hold up well with the arms fully raised. The tip cylinder offers a reasonable degree of tip movement and the quick coupler allows the attachment to be removed.

The articulation features a good degree of turn with working hydraulics and simulated driveshaft visible between the two frames. The wheels have an authentic set of rubber tyres which carry an accurate tread pattern. The wheel hubs have bolt and disc brake cover details highlighted in black paint which makes them stand out adding to the realism.

The cab interior is fantastic and this is a great improvement on previous Joal models. The side control console is clearly visible and has painted dials and switches with joystick control and arm rest, just like the real machine. The central console is finished in silver and topped with a black steering wheel while foot pedals are visible on the floor which has an authentic looking anti slip surface.

The contoured seat has the JCB logo printed to the seat back and the cab door has a molded handle while the cab frame has metal grab rails with integrated rear view mirrors and silver cab access step.

The four in one bucket is a nice addition to the model and is fully functional. The only dissapointment is that the rivets are very noticable on the bucket and it is a shame these could not have been painted over.

The decal placement on the model is very good with warning and safety labels visible near the articulation points. The JCB logos have been accurately placed along with prited engine grills and indicator lights.

This is one of the best JCB models to be released by Joal and certainly shows an improvement over their earlier JCB models. The paint finish is crisp with clear crisp printed decals and an excellently reproduced cab interior making the model a must have for JCB enthusiasts.
