JCB 3CX Backhoe Loader

Presented here is the 1:50th scale JCB 3CX Contractor which has been manufactured by Motorart under licence from JCB as an update to the original 3CX release.

The level of detail on the model is impressive, from the rear fully functional backhoe, featuring working extradig stick and digging bucket to the fully detailed cab, both inside and out with an updated black internal colour matching the all-black cab frame and rear wheel arches, a tell-tale sign of the Contractor version of the machine.

The rear of the model has a working sideshift, however, the stabilisers are fixed and do not extend. This does not really detract from the model but would have been a nice touch. A pattern of black chevrons has been authentically replicate on the stabiliser posts

The cab interior has been fully modelled, with steering column, console and rear operator levers all visible through the clear glazing. There is even a JCB logo printed on the seat. The outside of the cab is equally detailed with scale handrails, mirrors and windscreen wipers all present.

As with the original release, there are no casting changes on the update so the model is still fitted with a non-functional single cast 4-in-1 bucket. As an update, I can understand why this has not been updated.

The paint finish of the model is very good, as is now expected from Motorart. The markings are very crisp with the well known JCB markings clearly visible on the boom.
