International Harvester 175C Tracked Loader with 4-in-1 Bucket
This is the International 175C tracked loader in 1:25th scale from First Gear. I love the old tracked loaders and this model is one I have been waiting eagerly for. The model is similar to the previous 175C release with a new 4-in-1 bucket on the front and a rear mounted 5 shank ripper.

The detail provided in the operators cabin is fantastic, including all the operator levers and foot pedals complete with operating and warning labels. There are faithfully reproduced dials on the console, complete with level markings, a fire extinguisher and even a tool box and lubrication can to finish the detail.

One interesting flaw in the model is where a set of controls appear to be missing. I have contacted First Gear and they stated that the controls are not supposed to be fitted to this version of machine and that the holes in the casting should have been covered in.
The individually linked metal tracks are supperbly detailed and are an exact replication of the real tracks. Everything looks perfectly scaled with authentic sprocket detail and lower rollers. The rear of the model features a detailed ripper assembly with three fixed ripper teeth. There are two more teeth and pins supplied in the box which can be fitted to the frame.

The front 4-in-1 bucket is fully functional with detailed teeth, working cylinders with hydraulic hoses and serated edges on the bucket just like the real machine. The main boom lift cylinders are nice and stiff and hold the bucket in any position required.

The engine compartment has two panels which can be fitted. They use magnets to hold them in place which is another nice touch from First Gear. Behind the panel is the detailed engine block with radiator fan, oil filters, exhaust, electrical cabling and other associated detail inside the engine bay. The front grill is etched with a pattern of small holes with radiator detail behind and the exhaust stack has a functioning rain cover cap.

The ROPS protection on the model can be removed with a little care. There are two screws holding the rear frame and the front frame is glued in place. Removing the ROPs gives the model a totally different look.
This is another supperb model in the International Pioneer series and looks good alongside the other track loaders and dozers produced so far..
