MAN HAK 15.200 Truck with Skip Body
Presented here is the 1:50th scale MAN HAK 15.200 2-axle truck with Atlas skip loading body from Conrad. The model is supplied in a foam lined cardboard inner with outer printed box and the wing mirrors and front fender rods are supplied loose in the box and need fitting to the model.
The model is decorated in the authentic green and red livery of "Renner Transport", a German company based in Stuttgart that is still in business today (Visit their website) and has the accurate phone details printed on the skip sides and truck frame which is a nice touch from Conrad.

The lift up opening bonnet reveals a replicated engine block and radiator beneath and the bonnet remains in the raised position on it's own without falling down which is a nice touch.
The front bumper has integrated lights with clear plastic lenses whilst the indicator lights are painted on the opening bonnet

The front axle has working steering which achieves a good degree of turn and the rubber tyres fitted to the plastic wheel hubs have an authentic moulded tread pattern. The rear axle floats within the replicated suspension arms giving a little oscilation and the drivetrain is replicated from the engine block through the distribution gearbox to both front and rear axles with fuel and air tanks mounted to the chassis along with a silver exhaust.

The Atlas skip body features fold down arms with chain links allowing the supplied skip to be connected and lifted into position. The lifting hook castings on the skip catch against the arms during lifting and the skip cannot be loaded or emptied realistically because of this.

The bed has a central diamond plate panel and hydraulic oil tank behind the cab with extending stabilisers and a flip-down hook used for discharging the skip contents. The authentic shape of the MAN cab has been captured well and the green and red colour scheme really does set the model off well. |
The previously released 3-axle DHAK dump truck received some complaints about the shape of the front grill and upper part of the cab and Conrad have listened to the feedback and done some retooling in these areas to produce a much more authentic and realistic looking appearance that die-hard fans of the historic MAN bonnetted truck should be happy with.
