Liebherr L300 Wheeled Excavator

Liebherr L300

Presented here is the historic 1:50th scale Liebherr L300 wheeled excavator from NZG. The model is an excellent reproduction of one of Liebherr's first excavators with an interesting design of undercarriage where the steering wheels are mounted close together and angled. This has been fully modelled here with working steering and freely rotating wheels with realistic treaded tyres.

The operator's station has been accurately modelled with opening, sliding door revealing the operator controls, steering wheel and seat inside.

Simulated rubber seals have been painted on the glass edges to increase the level of realism and this looks good. The old style Liebherr markings have also been authentically reproduced

The bucket can be configured as either a hoe or shovel with an opening bucket door and three stage main lift cylinder.

To configure the bucket, you need to remove the pin and rotate the bucket by 180 degrees before re-pinning the linkage. This is a nice touch on the model.

The engine is mounted to the rear of the body with cast grill detailing and exhaust stack added.

This is a good representation of a famous machine and NZG have done a great job in capturing the spirit of the Liebherr L300. The ability to reconfigure the bucket is a welcome addition which allows two different posing options.
