Hamm HW90 Triple Drum Static RollerPresented here is the Hamm HW90 static roller in 1:50th scale from WSI. The HW90 is an old design which has been around for a number of years and yet is still a popular machine throughout the UK with road surfacing companies. The model has been produced to WSI's usual high standards with great detailing throughout. The large rear wheels have a silvered surface finish with grey painted interiors with highly detailed hub centres that show off all the bolt fixing details nicely with cleaning bars extending from the chassis on both sides of the drum. The front drum is mounted into a pivoting frame which offers a reasonable degree of steering motion, powered by a single hydraulic cylinder. The enclosed cabin has been authentically captured with the exhaust stack rising centrally up the front with windscreen wipers fitted to the front windows while small windows have been added lower down to give a good view of the edge of the front roller. Black printing has been used to highlight the rubber window seals with rear view mirror housings fixed to the frame, topped with an amber beacon on the roof. The interior of the cabin is equally impressive with two ergonomic operator's stations present, each with their own controls while the central console has been decorated to highlight the various dials and controls. The floor has small textured panels with an opening rear door allowing a better view of the interior.
The Hamm HW90 is certainly another very good release from WSI and complements the existing Hamm range very well. The paint finish is very good with an even coat and crisp printing of the Hamm and Wirtgen logos and graphics. A limited edition version of the model has been produced exclusively for Ballast Nedam. |
