Hamm HD+110 Articulated Tandem Drum Roller

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Hamm HD+110 tandem drum roller from WSI in the company colours of Eurovia and exclusive to th VINCI Online Webshop. The model has some amazing levels of detail and realism throughout, like the opening doors on the cabin with painted edges and safety rails added to the inside of the door for added realism. The cab exterior has several thin metal handrails with black printing used to simulate the rubber window seals with windscreen wipers added.

The cab is exceptionally detailed throughout with the drivers seat mounted to a frame which both rotates by 90 degrees on each side and slides along the width of the chassis. This frame also houses the steering console and side mounted hand controls with the centrally located display screen having intricate printing of the dials and guages, along with the red painted emergency stop button for total realism. The internal contours of the cab have been replicated and there is even a tiny printed first aid label indicating where the first aid box is located. This attention to detail is great to see and demonstrates the effort WSI have put into creating a 100% accurate replica.

Both water tanks have a satin grey finish with two black painted filler caps, one on each side while large contoured rear view mirrors with a reflective surface have been added to the front frame. Both side doors can be opened to reveal the replicated 4-cylinder Deutz TCD 2012 L04 2V engine block within.

The doors have an accurate contour with integrated access steps and door handles which look great while the rear of the door houses a plastic locking clip to ensure the doors remain closed. The more you look inside the engine bay, the more details you find, including the replicated tension belts and centrally mounted radiator with the exhaust pipe protruding through the cutout in the body panel.

Each drum has hydraulic piping fixed to both sides of the frame with the highly detailed drive motor visible on one side and the vibratory/Oscilation motor on the opposite side.

The light housings on each corner of the chassis have small clear and red tinted plastic lenses. Black paint is used to highlight all the fixing bolts which really does add to the level of realism. The cleaning bars fitted to the frame have a white highlighted blade and again employ black paint to highlight the bolt heads.

Attention to detail is excellent with the guide roller and wheel chocks all added while the tiny printed safety labels are located throughout the model and are exceptional in clarity, considering their tiny size. Simulated edge pressing and cutting equipment has been added to the drum frame on one side while the non-functional stowable access steps for easy access for refilling the tanks have been integrated into the frame castings.

The three point articulated chassis has been replicated very well with the linkage between the front and rear assemblies allowing the model to be posed with the drums offset in crab steer mode. The standard articulating steering mode can also be replicated depending on the settings of the two hydraulics. The movement is quite stiff and holds the chosen position well and is a very nice addition on the model.

Once again, WSI have demonstrated their commitment to produce some of the most detailed and realistic looking models available with excellent engineering and functionality. This is another great addition to the rapidly expanding Eurovia model fleet.
