Hamm 3414 Single Drum Compactors

This is the new 1:50th scale Hamm roller model from NZG. There are 4 versions available, including 2 with closed cabs and 2 with open ROPS. The level of detail found on the model is very high, with working articulation and free rolling drum. The rear tyres are different, depending on the type of machine. The paint finish is crisp with fine decal details printed onto the model.

The smooth drum versions feature large rubber tyres at the rear with an intricate tread pattern that is designed to reduce damage to the surface. This in contrasted with the tyres on the sheepsfoot versions which have tractor style tread pattern for additional grip when compacting soil or soft ground.

The cab differences on the models consist of completely different castings. The open cab version features detailed operator controls and sturdy ROPS frame with canopy, complete with grab rails on both sides of the cab area where as the closed cab version has large glazed windows, windscreen wiper and rear view mirrors all fitted to the cab frame.

Supplied in a polystyrene inner carton with outer printed cardboard box, the model is another addition to the growing range of 1:50th scale paving models. The recent HD12 and HD14 tandem drum rollers are a nice addition to the range and are pictured below giving contrast to the 3414. NZG have recently released all four versions with new designations of 3412 printed on the front frame.
