1:50th Scale Dynapac CC424HF Tandem Drum Roller
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Dynapac CC424HF tandem drum roller with enclosed cab from Motorart. This project started out as a 1:35th scale model and the guys at Dynapac eventually decided to go 1:50th scale which is why the model has taken a long time to be released. The results are very impressive with high detail castings, opening side doors revealing the engine details within and a removable roof allowing the driving console and seat to be positioned on either side of the enclosed cab.
The side opening doors reveal internal engine and cooling details including moulded and flexible pipework which is a very nice touch on the model. Flexible hoses are also visible on each drum frame and the large bolt heads have been picked out with silver paint which really gives the model a realistic appearance.
The fully replicated drivers station is clearly visible inside the fully enclosed and glazed cab. The large roof panel can be removed giving access to the interior where the seat and control console can be rotated to face the front or rear of the model as desired. The seat can also be positioned to each side of the large cab which has an interesting design allowing the driver an unobstructed view of the drum edges. The warning beacon fitted to the roof can be folded down or raised (as pictured below)

The drums have a silver surface with painted interior and are freely rotating. The drum cleaning bars are accurately placed on each side of the drum and the detailed drive motor casing is visible, again showing the bolt detailing and flexible piping.

This is a really good replica of the Dynapac CC424HF roller and demonstrates the excellent amount of detail that Motorart adds to their models. It will be interesting to see if a paving model is also released in 1:50th scale.
