Dieci Pegasus 50.21 Rotating Telescopic Handler
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Dieci Pegasus 50.21 rotating telescopic handler from Ros. The machine has a lift capacity of 5000kg and a boom length of 20.5 meters with three telescopic sections, powered by a Perkins 4 cylinder 1104ED-ETA diesel engine generating 144hp.
The model features 360 degree rotating upper body which allows the machine to be used for lifting as well as standard duties expected of a telescopic handler and to this aim, a side mounted lifting jib is supplied with the model which connects to the boom during use or is stored on the side of the body when not in use.

The plastic personnel basket provided with the model connects to the boom quick coupler with a metal pin and features diamond plate flooring panels with extending side sections. Interestingly, there are no pallet forks provided with the model which is a surprise considering pick and place abilities are a major job function of the real machine. |

The detailed cab interior has visible steering wheel, driver's seat and side mounted control panel along with roof mounted protection grill and windscreen wipers fitted to the front and rear windows. The printing on the cab side is crisp and well executed and the front framework has integrated front facing work lights and rear view mirror whilst the rear of the upper structure has integrated brake, indicator and reversing lights.
The undercarraige features working extending outriggers with screw threaded jacks which lower to stabilise the machine and both axles are steerable with authentic treaded tyres fitted to the freely rotating wheel hubs which have some good detailing. |

The centre mounted engine cover opens to reveal the modelled powerplant inside with silver highlighted components along with black painted cooling grill detailing and textured wheel arch panels. |

The main boom casting has intricate hydraulic piping detail along the side with a large cylinder mounted above the boom. The main lift cylinder is stiff, allowing the boom to be fully positioned and the attachment tip is stiff enough for the attachment to remain in position.
. The model is a nice addition to the growing range of 1:50th scale telescopic handlers and this is the first rotating version to be produced in 1:50th scale. Ros have done a good job of replicating the full sized machine and while the basket looks a little overscale, the results look great. The paint finish is excellent and all markings and warning labels are faithfully reproduced.
