John Deere 400D Articulated Dumptruck
This is the John Deere 400D ADT in 1:50th scale from ERTL. The model is from their "High Detail" series and feature a host of improvements on their previous version of the 400D.
Being a high detail model, there is a fully detailed Mercedes engine situated under the opening bonnet. The cab interior is fully detailed and can be tilted to the side showing the drive train details.

The model features detailed walkways with painted anti-slip panels and plastic hand rails which do look a little overscaled. The exhaust system has been nicely modelled with a flexible pipe crossing the articulating joint to simulate the heated dump bed option available on the full sized machine.

The rear of the model has fully working suspension and detailed drive train from the articulated joint. The dump body has a smooth interior with red primer painting whilst the outer sides of the dump body have structural ribbibg detail and flexible rubber mud guards for added realism. |
The detail on this model is outstanding for a model that costs around £25 and is a fantastic addition to the John Deere model series.
