1:50th Scale John Deere 648G Grapple Skidder

Presented here is the 1:50th scale John Deere "High Detail Series"  648G grapple skidder from Ertl. This is one of a growing range of Deere forestry models and captures the essence of the machine very well.

The opening engine compartment panels on each side of the model are a nice touch and reveal a replicated plastic moulding of the engine block. The front blade can be lowered and the large wheels have accurately reproduced tractor style treaded rubber tyres.

The cab features mesh safety screens printed on the windows along with protection bars running up the front. The articulating frame has an integrated winch and fully functional rear arm with grapple. While this is a "High Detail" version, the large chrome headed rivets are a real dissapointment.

The 648G is finished in the older yellow and grey Deere livery.
