Presented here is the 1:32nd scale Challenger RoGator RG 655 dedicated crop sprayer from Mahler & Partners. The rugged looks of this rather unique machine have been accurately captured and there are some very nice touches found on the model.

The contours of the large water tank have been accurately captured with flexible hoses fixed to the top. The plastic spray arms have some good structural detailing and can be accurately positioned in either the folded (transport) or working positions with hydraulics used to keep them in position.

The side mounted control panel has been populated with various hand controls and levers and this really adds to the realism of the model with crisply printed instruction and warning labels.

The cabin interior is fully replicated and visible through the large glazed windows. Access to the cab is via the steps on the side which also lead up behind the cab to the top of the tank. Plastic scaled safety railings have been added and look good, as do the large rear view mirror housings integrated into the cab frame.

The roof sports a set of floodlight housings with silver highlighted lenses which have an intricate texture with an amber beacon and the TopCon satelite control module all replicated.

The main frame for the spray bars can be raised/lowered although the hydraulic cylinder is rather slack so once the spray bars are fully extended, the frame slowly drops to the lowest position. The frame also has angular control simulating the range of movement of the full sized machine.

One of the most surprising features on the model is the all-wheel steering and suspension mechanism. This allows the model to demonstrate different steering modes, including crab steering but this is only one interesting aspect.

The full sized machine has a height adjustable suspension system and this has been accurately replicated on the model, allowing the suspension arms to be lowered and locked into place with the rotating catches, effectively raising the body off the ground.

This is certainly a very good addition on the model, especially as the steering still functions.

The paint finish is of a very high standard with an even coat allowing all the casting details to be seen. The printing of the Challenger logos and machine designation is crisp and clear and the model is securely packaged in a Norscot style box allowing the model to be clearly seen within.
