Two new 1:50th scale models have been produced by Diecast Masters with the tooling started by Norscot before the licence changes in the second half of 2015. The models are packaged in the new “Collectible Tin”.

The 420F2 is presented in centremount configuration with an outer extending dipper which is actually adjustable. The front wheels have a limited range of steering movement while the loader arms can be raised with an IT spec tipping bucket linkage connected to a quick coupler, allowing a choice of three attachments to be used, the 4-in-1 bucket, extending lifting arm or pallet forks.

Bucket tip is very limited and the maximum arm height is not quite enough to depict loading a tipper truck. The cabin interior has been modelled convincingly, complete with scale figure which is seated in a forward facing position.

The rear stabilisers can be lowered and the backhoe boom does have height and reach adjustment with fairly stiff hydraulics. The stick also has a quick coupler allowing trenching bucket, auger or hammer to be fitted
