Case 590 Super R Series 2 "50th Anniversary" Backhoe Loader
Presented here is the Case 590 Super R backhoe loader model in 1:50th scale from Conrad. The model is based on the 580 version with a small difference, apart from the colour scheme. Conrad have added small holes in the cab sides to allow the fitting of side mounted grab rails with integral rear view mirrors. This is the final touch that makes the model just that bit better. The paint finish of black and chrome mimics that of the real machine which has been used to announce the 50th Anniversary of the backhoe loader.
The rear of the model features a working sideshift and adjustable stabilisers. The backhoe boom is fully functional including a working extending stick, quick hitch and detailed bucket which can actually be removed. This level of details has not been seen on a 1:50th scale backhoe model before and the 590 Super R surpasses the BL71 and JCB 3CX models from Motorart.
The cab is highly detailed with all the operator controls visible through the clear windows. All working lights have been reproduced in the cab roof as on the real machine and the 50th Anniversary markings have been printed around the cab windows, just like it's full sized brother.
The front bucket on the model features the standard 4-in-1 bucket which can be opened. The steering is functional and just to finish off what is, in my opinion, one of the best backhoe models in 1:50th scale, the engine hood can be tilted open to reveal the detailed engine block.
The finish of the model is to Conrad's usually high standard with crisp markings celebrating the 50th Anniversary on the loader arms, backhoe stick and on the cab glass. The weight of the model is considerable when compared to the JCB 3CX and Volvo BL71 models and it just feels better quality. The model is packaged in a specially printed cardboard box with slide out foam wraparound to protect the model in transit. This is a must have model for any serious Case collector and a nice way to celebrate 50 years of the Case Backhoe.
