Case CX250D Tracked Excavator

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Case CX250D tracked excavator from Conrad. The Case markings have been updated to the latest design with the machine's designation printed on the engine sides and the Case logo across the boom and counterweight. The model uses most of the castings from the earlier CX250C with a new shape counterweight casting.

The tracked undercarriage has linked metal track pads with triple grouser detailing with sprung idler wheels keeping the tracks tensioned. The track frames have roller and guide wheel detailing along with cast access steps on the sides of each frame.

The upper body has been accurately captured from the full sized machine with textured engine cover and authentically scaled metal safety rails, complete with clip on rear view mirror. Another difference to the earlier 'C' version is the additional safety railings aded to the upper deck which are made from metal.

The cabin interior has been modelled with a plastic moulding with a roof window installed into the cab frame. A rear view mirror is supplied in the box and needs fitting to the safety rail on the side of the cab. The roof and front screen safety screens are an interesting addition to the model and look good.

Added pipe detailing has been moulded into the smooth working hydraulic cylinders which are finished in a dark grey colour, as is the bucket with flexible hydraulic lines added for more realism. The paint finish is of a high quality, as expected from Conrad while the Case graphics are authentically applied.
