Case CX240B-MH Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the new Case CX240B-MH tracked excavator model in 1:50th scale from Conrad.
The tracked undercarriage has linked metal track pads with triple grouser detailing with sprung idler wheels keeping the tracks tensioned. The track frames have roller and guide wheel detailing along with cast access steps on the sides of each frame.
The upper body has been accurately captured from the full sized machine with textured engine cover and authentically scaled metal safety rails, complete with clip on rear view mirror. The Case markings have been added to the sides and rear counterweight with red plastic pieces fitted to the lower corners.

The hydraulically adjustable cab linkage is nicely engineered and keeps the cab perpendicular during the entire range of movement. The steps and hydraulic hoses on the back of the riser linkage mechanism adds to the detail and the cylinder is stiff enough to hold the cab in any position chosen.
The grapple attachment is a welcomed addition to the model and features 360 degree rotation with small hydraulic cylinders inside the mechanism which function just like the real machine as the blades are opened and closed. |

The front of the cab has a plastic debris protection screen with silver painted integrated work lights. A rear view mirror is supplied in the box and needs fitting to the safety rail on the side of the cab. |

This is a very welcomed addition to the Case model line up and the castings are crisp and clean with cast auxiliary piping on the boom and stick adding to the level of realism. The addition of the high rise cab and waste handling grapple are a welcome difference and give the model a more interesting appearance.
