Case CX240B Long Reach Excavator
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Case CX240B long reach excavator from Conrad. The upper body has been accurately captured from the full sized machine with textured engine cover and authentically scaled metal safety rails, complete with clip on rear view mirror.
The Case markings have been added to the sides and rear counterweight with red plastic pieces fitted to the lower corners. The long reach boom configuration is a welcome addition with pipe detailing cast into the back of the boom with flexible hydraulics added between the boom and stick and from the engine compartment to the base of the boom.

The long reach booms can be secured together during transport by using the plastic bar which push-fits in to one of the four holes on the stick or clips against the boom when not in use. |
The grading bucket fitted to the stick looks great and is to scale with a good degree of functionality to demonstrate the full movement range. |

With the stick at full reach with the body positioned across the tracks, the model is a little tipsy so caution needs to be used when posing the model. |
The front of the cab has a plastic debris protection screen with silver painted integrated work lights. A rear view mirror is supplied in the box and needs fitting to the safety rail on the side of the cab. The interior has been replicated and a roof window is installed.
The tracked undercarriage has linked metal track pads with triple grouser detailing with sprung idler wheels keeping the tracks tensioned. The track frames have roller and guide wheel detailing along with cast access steps on the sides of each frame.
The CX240B long reach is a good addition to the growing Case model range and is a great counterpart to the previously released CX240B-MH industrial excavator (Pictured below)
