Case 420 Series 3 Skid Steer Loader

Presented here is the new Case 420 Series 3 skid steer loader model in 1:50th scale from Conrad. This is a very welcomed addition to the Case model range and it is good to see that it has been produced in 1:50th scale which, despite it's small size looks great. The moulded tyres have an accurate tread pattern and are fitted to plastic wheel hubs which rotate freely.

The cab interior has been nicely replicated with tilting seat, joystick controls and pull down safety bar all visible within which is great considering the actual dimensions of the model and the loader arms have a very good amount of movement allowing them to be fully raised, complete with an authentic style quick coupler mounted to the arms which allows the fitting of either bucket or pallet forks, both of which are supplied with the model along with a moulded plastic pallet. The pallet fork attachment is a single casting so the forks cannot be adjusted.

A very nice touch on the model is that the entire cab frame can be tilted forward to reveal the moulded engine block at the rear of the chassis. The cab frame has integral grab rails at the front along with two cast lifting points on the roof while fine, square mesh safety screen panels have been fitted to both sides of the cab.

The rear body casting is very crisp with the cooling grill detailing and upper work lights all visible. The lights have been painted and the upper engine cover has a textured surface finish with small exhaust stack. Above this, a glazed window has been fitted to the rear of the cab frame.

The model has a very good paint finish with accurate placement of the Case markings on the loader arms and rear body panels. The model is wrapped in foam and packaged in a small cardboard box with a new style of glossy graphic printing.
