Bobcat E20 Mini Excavator
Presented here is the 1:25th scale Bobcat E20 excavator which has been produced by Universal Hobbies in two different versions, one with a fully enclosed cabin and one with a canopy. The undercarriage, body and digging equipment castings are the same across both versions.
The undercarriage is fitted with band-style tracks which have a raised tread with a working dozer blade fixed to the frame.
The upper carriage body casting is done to accentuate the grills which look good and the graphic printing is accurately applied.
The cabin has a fully finished interior with all the various controls visible while the printed window seals have a patterned edge which really does add to the realism.
On the canopy version, the interior is more visible with all the various controls modelled, including the safety levers with the Bobcat logo embossed on the seat.

The boom and stick have a fairly good range of movement and hydraulic lines have been added to power the hydraulic thumb although there are no hydraulic lines for any of the other cylinders which is a surprise considering the level of detail Universal Hobbies usually add to their models. |
The model is fitted with a thumb attachment on the stick which gives it a more unusual appeal. While this looks good, the range of movement is quite poor, especially the bucket curl. |

Overall, the E20 is a worthy addition to the 1:25th scale Bobcat fleet.
