1:50th Scale Bell B40D Articulated Dumptruck
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Bell B40D articulated hauler from Norscot. The detail is very good throughout and better than is normally expected from a Norscot model. The cab interior has been nicely replicated and is visible through the windows. The tyres on the model have an accurate tread pattern moulded into the surface along with the Michelin brand visible on the tyre walls for added realism.

The articulated chassis is functional with hydraulics used for the steering and oscillation of the front and rear frames matching the operation of the full sized machine.

The rear wheels are mounted to suspension arms which oscillate allowing the model to be posed on uneven ground which is a nice addition on the model. |
The skip has a smooth inner surface painted in a primer red colour whilst the outer surfaces of the dump body have structural ribbing detail and cast mud guards which have been painted black. The skip can be tipped to a realistic angle and the hydraulics are still enough to allow the body to remain raised.

The opening engine compartment is a nice addition on the model, featuring a replicated Mercedes Benz engine block along with various other replicated engine components.

The access steps on each side are made of plastic with a textured anti-slip surface and the safety railings are a little overscaled. The frames extending from the cab house rear view mirrors and a windscreen wiper has been added to the front window. |
This is a great release from Norscot and looks good along side the other Bell models currently available (Pictured above with the Bell L2706D wheel loader). The paint finish is very good and the markings are crisp throughout.
