Atlas Copco Dynapac SD2500WS Wheeled Paver

Atlas Copco Dynapac SD2500WS

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Atlas Copco Dynapac SD2500WS wheeled paver from NZG. This is an update to the original Dynapac decorated version with an all new Atlas Copco corporate colour scheme of grey and yellow. There are no casting differences with the only updates being the painting, printing and the packaging.

The model can be realistically posed in a transport configuration with the canopy brackets folding forward to reduce the model's height. The canopy frame is connected to the exhaust stack which also folds forward while the extending end sections of the screed can be set in their retracted position to reduce the width.

The small rubber wheels have a deep tread pattern and freely rotate. Topping off the front detail is the pivoting wheel bar with rotating rollers and the grey painted, simulated rubber flaps on the front edges of the hopper.

The hopper features pivoting side panels which are tight enough to remain in the raised position. The lower bed of the hopper has a ridged texture to simulate the conveyor.

One great feature of the model is the full length sliding operator's station which can extend out on each side of the body to allow the driver an unobstructed view of the area and this is fully functional on the model. The main control console has been authentically decorated with the screens and controls of the full sized machine, complete with steering wheel. The entire console assembly can traverse from the left to the right seating positions which is a nice touch.

The rear screed has been replicated well with a diamond plate anti-slip texture on all the surfaces, including the integrated access steps across the rear of the screed. Metal safety rails have been added leading up to the driver's station, complete with a hinged central section which pivots as the screed is adjusted.

Other detailing includes the two large gas bottles mounted to the rear screed and the end sections of the screed can be hydraulically extended with nicely decorated control panels housed on each side. The screed frame can be raised/lowered and the hydraulics are very stiff, allowing it to remain in the chosen position. As expected from NZG, the paint finish is excellent with an even coating and vibrant colours while the tampo printed markings are crisply applied. The model is supplied in a two-section polystyrene carton with printed outer cardboard box.
