Ammann ASC110 Single Drum Roller
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Ammann ASC110 single drum roller from Ros. The ASC concept uses 3 hydraulic motors for the runner with a separate drive for the rear wheels which allows a shorter wheelbase and low-down engine positioning for a very low centre of gravity along with excellent and unobstructed all round view from the cab and these details have been accurately captured in the model.
The rear wheels have painted wheel hubs showing bolt head detailing and the rubber tyres have an intricate moulded tread pattern which looks very realistic. The front drum has a silver finish on the outer surface with painted inner edges and flexible hydraulic hoses are fitted to the frame. Both the rear wheels and drum are freely rotating and the articulcated steering linkage has a good amount of adjustment and also incorporates oscilation of the front and rear frame which is a nice touch

The cab interior has been reproduced with driver's seat and central control console all visible through the clear glazed windows. The side access steps have a textured anti-slip surface and grab rails are integrated into the cab frame.

The rear engine cover can be opened to reveal the low mounted engine block and cooling radiator within which is a nice addition to the model. The rear bumper has integral lifting loops and pintle hitch detailing and the rear cooling grill has an authentic looking honeycomb texture with rear facing lights with silver lenses. |
Warning and safety labels have been accurately reproduced all round the model and the paint finish is crisp and even throughout. The model is supplied in a two piece polystyrene carton with outer printed box and is a nice addition to the previously released AV110X model
