Mercedes-Benz Actros 3-axle Chassis with Meiller Dump BodyPresented here is the limited edition 1:50th scale 3-axle Mercedes-Benz Actros with Meiller 3-way tipping body from NZG in the Schüßler company decoration. The Otto Schüßler company is a third generation family owned and run business based in the town of Diedorf-Lettenbach near Augsburg. Operating for over 50 years, they have a number of modern machines and trucks to undertake projects large and small, from earthworks to demolition. The cab has a number of details added to the frame including access steps with textured surface, door handles, rear view mirrors, grab handles above the cab door along with roof mounted air horns and two radio antennas. There is also a front fitted safety mirror giving the driver a good view in front of the cab which is a nice addition to the model.
The 3-axle chassis features a rear bumper bar with integrated towing pintle hitch cast into the frame. Brake, reversing and indicator lights have been added to the model with coloured plastic lenses which look very realistic. the underside has simulated suspension detailing with drive shafts to the axles and a steering front axle. The tipping body features an opening tailgate with integral access steps and grab rail at the end of the body allowing the driver access to the body interior which is a detail not usually added on a scale model. The body is modelled on a 3-way tipping mechanism but this is not functional on the model with the only tipping configuration that of a standard rear tip model. The Meiller dump body does have the side opening mechanisms cast into the surface with the linkage picked out with silver paint which does add to the level of realism. The paint finish is of a very high standard with crisp printing of the company name and Meiller logos |
