Mercedes-Benz Actros 4-axle Chassis with Half-pipe Dump Body

Presented here is the limited edition 1:50th scale 4-axle Mercedes-Benz Actros with half-pipe tipping body from NZG in the Penzenstadler company decoration.

The 4-axle chassis features a rear bumper bar with integrated towing pintle hitch cast into the frame. Brake, reversing and indicator lights have been added to the model with coloured plastic lenses which look very realistic. The underside has simulated suspension detailing with drive shafts to the rear axles and linked steering of the front axles.

The cab has a number of details added to the frame including access steps with textured surface, door handles, rear view mirrors, grab handles above the cab door along with roof mounted air horns and two radio antennas. There is also a front fitted safety mirror giving the driver a good view in front of the cab which is a nice addition to the model.

The exhaust stack is silver with a patterned diamond plate texture on the box surfaces. Air tanks and fuel tank with cast fillercap are fitted to the frame.

The bumper has integrated headlights with clear plastic lenses along with number plate and Mercedes Benz logo centrally mounted on the front grill.

The rear wheel guards have an intricate diamond plate texture with simulated mud guards on the rear edges (as pictured above). The tipping movement of the body is fairly limited and does not go particularly high. The body itself has accurately captured the interior contours with a large pivoting tailgate and support bars fitted to the lower sides.

The paint finish is of a very high standard with crisp printing of the company name and graphics on the sides of the tipping body. The Penzenstadler company began back in 1939 in Miesbach, Germany and over the years, they have grown to become established in a number of fields including transportation, heavy haulage, demolition, earthworks, quarrying and recycling.
