1:50th Scale Liebherr R984C Backhoe Excavator with Ripper
Presented here is the long awaited Liebherr R984C tracked excavator with quick coupler, rock bucket and ripper tooth from Conrad. This is a new version which has a cab roof protection screen and yellow and grey colour scheme. The metal tracks have triple grouser pads and rotate freely on the track frames. The upper body has side cast walkways with realistically textured metal panels with sturdy railings around the cab access platform.

The rock bucket is a brand new casting and looks much more defined and detailed than the original bucket fitted to the other R984 models. The five large teeth give the bucket an aggressive look and there are wear protection plates on the outer and inside surfaces. The bucket is removed from the coupler by extracting the two pins. The bucket then lifts off the front hooks of the coupler. |

The ripper tooth is highly detailed with a nicely cast tooth tip with a groove simulating the real tooth which allows the tip to be replaced when worn. There is also shank wear detailing on the front and side faces and a tubular shaped cross member giving strength to the attachment. This is a very welcomed addition to the Liebherr collection and yet Liebherr themselves are not stocking the model as part of their merchandising line. This is a pity as this is, in my opinion, the best version of the R984 produced to date. |
